Brian began his career at 14 working at the University of Maryland Golf Course, where he gained hands-on experience and worked his way up. During his 11 years there, he earned a degree in Turfgrass Management. He then moved to Chartwell Golf and Country Club, as the Assistant Superintendent, where he learned to balance member expectations and turf management in the unpredictable mid-Atlantic climate. While at Chartwell, he contributed to a course renovation led by architect Andrew Green, which deepened his understanding of high-end course operations.
Next, Brian joined Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, VA, as Assistant Superintendent. There, he honed my skills in managing the operations of a premier private Club, home to multiple President’s Cups and the recent Solheim Cup. This experience prepared Brian for his first superintendent role at Chesapeake Bay Golf Club, where he played a key role in updating the irrigation system and raising the course's standards. After a season, he moved to the Preserve at Eisenhower Golf Course in Crownsville, MD, as Superintendent.
He established a new vision for improvements, helping the course become more competitive. Currently, while at Sparrows Point Country Cub, he will focus on enhancing course conditions, playability, and aesthetics. Brian's goal is to improve the overall member experience by refining crew training, communication, and consistency while incorporating feedback from members to elevate the property and ensure its status as a premier golf facility.
